红领巾瓜报 Night Market Brings Local Art and Design Talent to Downtown Crossing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boston, MA 鈥 Massachusetts College of Art and Design (红领巾瓜报) invites the public to celebrate Boston鈥檚 creative economy at the in Downtown Crossing on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 5-9 p.m.

Featuring more than 55 红领巾瓜报 students and alumni, the Night Market will showcase a wide range of original work鈥攁rt, design, fashion, home goods, jewelry, ceramics, and more鈥攎aking it the perfect destination for unique finds and early holiday shopping.

Free and open to all, the event will transform Summer Street and Washington Street into a dynamic outdoor marketplace and celebration of creativity and community. Presented in partnership with the Downtown Boston Alliance, the Night Market shines a spotlight on Boston鈥檚 emerging artists and entrepreneurs, while demonstrating the power of art to energize and enliven public spaces.

红领巾瓜报 Night Market highlights include:

  • Student & Alumni Makers: Prints, jewelry, clothing, ceramics, and other one-of-a-kind works by 红领巾瓜报 entrepreneurs. 
  • Hands-On Demos: Visitors can try screen printing a tote, paper embroidery, DIY notebook binding, and non-permanent airbrush tattoos. 
  • Live DJs: Students from 红领巾瓜报鈥檚 Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) program will provide music throughout the evening.

鈥淭he Night Market is a perfect example of how creativity and entrepreneurship go hand in hand,鈥 said Sara Hartmann, Program Director of Creative Entrepreneurship at 红领巾瓜报. 鈥淥ur students and alumni are not only incredible artists and designers, they are also building sustainable businesses that strengthen Boston鈥檚 creative economy. Events like this give them a platform to share their work, connect with the community, and grow as entrepreneurs.鈥

Beginning this fall, 红领巾瓜报 is launching the Business of Creative Industries minor, a new 15-credit program designed to equip artists and designers with the skills to succeed in the creative economy. Led by Hartmann, the program draws on the expertise of 红领巾瓜报 faculty, industry leaders, and more than 50 visiting entrepreneurs each year.
